Website down?

So are damn website has been down for a few days, not sure why I am typing a message on the website, since it isn’t working but….

We had a great weekend with Bishops and Rozwell Kid!  It was great to get back to the Opera House in Shepherdstown WV, it is one of the nicest places to play.  Great staff, awesome  sound, and an all around fun town!  We hope to come back your way before long, and thank you for having us again.

We have a few more shows in the coming weeks, next up is MACROCK!  We are playing Friday Night at 8:50pm at The Little Grill Collective.  Make sure to swing by and say hello, the venue only holds 50 people so get there early!  On Saturday Ben is playing a solo show at the Label Expo Acoustic Showcase on the Blue Nile Patio, he plays at 1pm.

We are all looking forward to hanging this weekend!
Now website, stop being dumb and work please!

Bad at the Internet + Shows!

We finished off January by locking ourselves away to record some of our newer songs.  We spent the better part of three days recording four songs, then the better part of the following week mixing each track.  We don’t have firm plans for their release, but we will surely let you know as plans begin to form.

After knocking out the four song recording we headed to the Deep Woods Collective Cabin for their final show at the space.  This comes to no surprise to us, but we had a fantastic time!  We love our NOVA friends and can’t wait to hang again soon.  Hopefully the cabin will be replaced by an equally awesome show space.  Thanks to Thom, Ricky, Cam and Alex for having us!

Tomorrow night, Sunday February 10th @ The Blue Nile!
We are back at the Nile tomorrow night.  Word on the street is that we play first, so come out early and hang with us!  We are playing with our friends from Roanoke The Missionaires.  Rounding out the bill are two Harrisonburg bands that we haven’t had the pleasure of spending much time with yet, Surfing and Smashhole.  We are looking forward to checking them out tomorrow evening.  Come hang around 9pm!

Goodbye 2012, Hello 2013!

Weekend Poster

Goodbye 2012!
We would like to thank everyone who came out to see us, bought a record or just hung out with us throughout 2012.  It was a busy year for us at camp Restraining Order.  We recorded and released a split cassette tape with our good friends Prison Book Club, if you haven’t checked it out swing by our bandcamp to hear our half of the tape, or swing by the store and pick up a copy to enjoy both sides and some great artwork done by Jordan Hudkins (Demon Beat).  2012 also brought change, we said goodbye to our drummer Nik Combs.  It was hard to see him go, but we couldn’t be more thrilled with the addition of Todd Yoder and Megan Tiller to the group.  We spend the last half of the year getting things up and running, playing mostly local shows and waiting around while I tried to piece together a few new songs.  We are really excited to get 2013 rolling.  We have a few shows lined up and are hoping to record some new music before the year slips away from us.  Thanks again for hanging with us in 2012, we hope everyone has a great New Year and we will see you on the other side.

11/25/12: Blue Nile w/Water Liars 9pm

We are playing tonight at the Nile with the Water Liars.  They are a lo-fi folk-pop duo based out of Mississippi.  Blending upbeat pop gems with down tempo despair, covering it all in wonderful harmonies, the Water Liars are not to be missed.  The show starts at 9pm ($4.00), Water Liars go on first, followed by us.  Come finish out the holiday weekend and kick off a week of great shows.

10/25/12: Blue Nile w/ Half Circles, Bombadil

This may come as a shock to you, but we have been slacking once again on our website.  I will go ahead and come out with it…there is no “we” that has been slacking; I, Benjamin Lee Schlabach, have been slacking.  I will promise to do better, but don’t count on it.

Since our September show at the Dodger, we have played a few shows around town and have finished up a few new songs.  Hopefully we will continue blazing forward with songs and shows.  We have a few things in the works for 2013 already and a few shows set up for the rest of 2012.  We could use a few more so get at us if you want to host a show.

We do have a show this week! Thursday October 25th at the Blue Nile playing with Half Circles and Bombadil.  Half Circles are our good friends from the ‘burg, who came out of the ashes of Dear Wolfgang.  If you haven’t had a chance to catch one of their sets in town, make sure to mark your calendars for this Thursday, you won’t be bummed that you did!  Our friends from NC Bombadil are making their way back through Harrisonburg.  This will be Uncle Bengine and the Restraining Orders first time playing with Bombadil, but our old band, Mild Winter, played with them a number of times around town.  They have a new album out and put on an fantastic show! Make sure to come out on Thursday!
